Hollywood is flanked by Hollywood Hills to the north, Los Feliz to the northeast, East Hollywood to the east, Larchmont and Hancock Park to the south, Fairfax to the southwest, West Hollywood to the west and Hollywood Hills West to the northwest.

Street limits of the Hollywood neighborhood are: north, Hollywood Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to the east boundary of Wattles Garden Park and Franklin Avenue between Bonita and Western avenues; east, Western Avenue; south, Melrose Avenue, and west, La Brea Avenue or the West Hollywood city line.

Hollywood is fun to explore on foot but, by far, the best way to see Hollywood and all of its sights is by taking a narrated bus tour of the city, especially if it's your first visit. Visitors will find lots of companies with kiosks on Hollywood Boulevard touting their tours as the best available. In fact, many of them are very good and will provide you with an excellent overview of the landmark attractions in the city.

Some of the tours are fairly short while others will consume the better part of the day. Which you choose will depend on just how star-struck you might be! Most of the tours also venture into nearby neighborhoods, particularly Beverly Hills, the area where many stars make their homes and have for decades. Though the buses aren't allowed to come to a complete stop in front of the houses, you'll still get a good look at them.

Business

A Hub for Commerce

Hollywood is full of occurrences that definitely belong in a script, and a comedy script at that.

For starters, I have seen Spider Man smoking cigarettes, and Elvis drinking Starbucks. Jesus himself once stole one of my tortilla chips -no joke, I’m sure you’ve seen him on TMZ! My chihuahua, Jet, is desperately afraid of the Jimmy Hendrix impersonator near the Hard Rock, and I seriously have to pick him up and carry him every time we walk past. He doesn’t, however, seem to fear the Scientologists, which I worry about! I live walking distance from H&M, Zara, Forever 21, and every other dream store on the hit list of a 25 year old female. Everything is convenient (you can take the metro from Hollywood and Highland all the way to Downtown!) fun, and for the most part it’s pretty safe. The worst part about living in Hollywood is that it’s quite dirty – broken glass, random togo boxes full of left over noodles, you get the point.
